Balance

It is a picture in Ukiyo-e period.
The artist makes use of imbalance of size of the object to create an eye-catiching scene and exhibit the magnificence of the mountain.


It is called as crystallographic balance.
It is a refinement of symmetrical balance.
It often uses in fabric patterns, wallpaper and floor tiles.



Not only the pattern could create an imbalance scene, but also did the color.
Though the imbalance in the B&W pic is obvious,
the imbalance in the colored one is even enhanced in order to create a stability at the bottom part.
